The Shire Valley Transformation Programme-2 (SVTP-2) aims to enhance irrigation infrastructure, land tenure, and agricultural commercialization in the Shire Valley area. The project includes the development of a new gravity-fed irrigation scheme for 27,600 ha, strengthening natural resource management, and improving productivity for smallholder commercial farm enterprises. The total project cost is estimated at USD 50 million, funded by the African Development Bank and the OPEC Fund.
