- Expression of Interest are invited for Malawi Private Sector Diagnostic: Irrigated Crop Production Market Assessment IFC is seeking a Consulting Firm to conduct a market assessment of opportunities in large-scale irrigated farming in Malawi. The objective of this analysis is to identify commercially viable opportunities for large-scale irrigated agribusiness in Malawi (with a special focus on the Shire Valley area), as well as investment needs and current financing options. The analysis will focus on up to 3 or 4 crops, to be determined in discussion with the selected Consultancy. The overall objective of this project is to (1) identify potential private investment opportunities in irrigated agricultural production; (2) provide market intelligence to fill knowledge gaps around investment criteria, project feasibility, and potential investors; and (3) propose a concrete action plan to remove barriers to investment that can support IFC business development and ongoing WBG country engagement, dialogue, and projects in the pipeline.
